How to: Image hosting for dummies
I thought I would put a guide together for those who don't know how to host images and post them in the forums.
First step is to go to www.imageshack.us
The home page looks like this:
As you can see, the "register" and "login" buttons are at the top, right corner of the web page. Go ahead and register an account using your e-mail address and follow all the steps to activate your account, if necessary. Its been awhile, so I can't remember if you need to or not.
After you register, return to the website and click login. Then enter your account information using your e-mail address and the password you created. Like this:
As soon as you login, you are redirected do your photo album with a list of actions. You're going to be uploading, so you only need to pay attention to this menu for now, which is located on the right side of the page:
Click "Upload Image" and you'll see a smaller window w/ a browse button and a resize option if you want imageshack to resize your image when you upload it.
Browse for your picture and click open then upload it to your album.
FYI: most screenshots are .bmp which is a larger size file. Convert it to .jpg by opening it in paint and re-saving it as a jpeg file.
Next to the images are small buttons you can click to perform different commands. For now lets click the top button thats next to the image that looks like an "i"
Copy all the text in the "Direct Link" box:
and paste your link in betweeen these commands with no spaces
And congrats. You can easily post your own pictures in the forums if you followed my steps correctly. Enjoy

Re: How to: Image hosting for dummies
it's not an srf rip lol. lots of websites have image hosting tutorials. srsly wtf.
nice tutorial. i'm thinking of making one for photobucket, or maybe you could
integrate one in the first post, so people get a choice of where to upload?
nice guide.

Hmm, sure. I could mess with photobucket too. I haven't messed with photobucket in over a year, cuz the site was down for awhile and I started using imageshack. I'll see what i can do :P

I recommend www.tinypic.com . Since it'll make the URL of your pic. smaller.
